3 & 5 Axis CNC Milling

by Boyce Precision Engineering

Within BPE’s machining centre, we provide both 3 and 5 axis CNC milling, and 4 axis turn milling to create a wide range of products for the aerospace, medical, pharmaceutical and automotive markets.

Our workshop is kitted out with state-of-the art milling equipment which includes nine Doosan 3 axis milling centres, one 4 Axis turn mill centre and two 5 axis Hermle machining centres.

BPE was the first precision engineering company to bring the Hermle machines to Northern Ireland in 2017. These machines offer great agility due to three of the axes being in the tool itself and the other two in the swivelling rotary table. Milling and turning take place at the same time, reducing the need for retooling or moving components to another machine, and thus minimise turnaround time on orders.

Our capabilities in turn milling have greatly increased since 2016 with the addition of our Doosan 4 axis machine, and over the past 5 years we’ve also invested heavily in our CADCAM capabilities. We have a 7 strong team of programmers which allow us to respond to a wide variety of packages. We can accept files in a variety of formats including DXF/IGES/STL/STEP files. Full cad cam facility parts can be programmed and machined in a fast and efficient manner. Quotations are returned within twenty four hours of receiving drawings of the parts in question.

It has been essential for BPE to invest heavily to purchase these higher capability machines to enable us to maintain our competitiveness and provide increasingly complex parts that our customers require. We have made a commitment to continuing to expand our capabilities over the next 3-5 years with a focus on producing high quality products at competitive prices.
